Batman: Arkham Knight is the conclusion of the dark and sometimes overly-gritty Arkham series of games, and the game is a brilliant end to what is already a legendary trilogy of games.

Players who tried the first game in this series were instantly blown away by how much they felt they like were really playing as Batman for the first time ever. No other interpretation of the Dark Knight includes the same sense of realistic vulnerability combined with the strength, intelligence, and technology of Batman.

This third installment in the trilogy features the most dynamic environments and largest locations in the series, creating a more realistic sense of playing in the city of Gotham. The city is supposedly deserted in response to a threat from one of Batman's old villains, but there are tons of criminals lurking about. An amazing opening sequence sets the tone for the entire game.

There are many more enemies in this game than the previous two in the series, which makes it feel that much more realistic. The small-time criminals are more of an annoyance than anything else, but the Arkham Knight and his band of thugs, tanks, and drones are the real threat.

The basic idea of the game hasn't changed too much. The player controls Batman as he traverses the heights of Gotham City with a grappling hook and gliding cape. The pair allows Batman to quickly and conveniently travel across the map. Challenges and other side quests are picked up along the way, and they reveal more of the overarching Batman world in this dark take.
