Codemasters
This title was released for a variety of platforms, including the Playstation 2, Xbox360 and Windows for personal computers. The game was sold under different titles. In New Zealand and Australia it was known as Ricky Ponting International Cricket 2007. India's version was branded as Yuvraj Singh International Cricket 2007. These alternative titles game more face recognition, as cricket is a popular in many countries and most nations that follow it have their own elite players.
Launch and Demo
Codemasters, the developer and publisher of the title, held two open days to allow gamers the chance to see and play parts of the game. The public was excited by such hands-on experience, and a demo was released on March of 2007 to enthusiastic downloading by the community. The demo allowed players to pit England versus Australia for three overs.
Gameplay Options
The complete title features 16 minigames intended to be tutorials, as well as the ability to play batting, bowling and fielding practices. As for matches, users have a plethora of options, including One Day Internationals, ICC World Cup, and Test matches. This title was the first cricket video game to allow online interaction, allowing friends to compete against one another.
While this game was a pioneer of its time, it has since aged badly. The developers released a patch post-launch, but it did not fix several glaring problems with the Xbox360 version of the game. Codemasters has cited financial woes as reason to abandon further attempts to fix the game.
