Bulletstorm is a recent AAA first person shooter from Epic Games and People Can Fly Studios. Bulletstorm's purpose was supposed to be to "put fun back in first person shooters". To this end, they have added a lot of crazy moves and guns to spice up a stale formula. You can hook enemies and pull them to you, only to kick them away onto some spikes and score extra points. While you do this, you move through a relatively generic sci-fi story involving badass space dudes and an evil man who betrayed them. The graphics are very good, which is no surprise coming from Epic Games. The mission variety is decent although usually it devolves into "shoot lots of guys", but it gives you ample opportunity to take advantage of the crazy scoring opportunities. The writing tries to dark yet funny but is ultimately just weak. Overall, the game is decent, it can be fun to see how badly you can abuse the enemies to get the maximum amount of points. Try the demo before you buy.
