SWaT is a modification of the popular game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare from Infinity Ward and Activision. Breaking away from the original premise of global conflict involving a Russian civil war and a hostile coup in the Middle East, this game focuses its gameplay on combat specially trained SWAT teams would encounter. As a result, the maps provided, rather than taking place in the Middle East or Eastern Europe, focus on urban settings like warehouses and city streets.
Weapons are similar to those provided in the original Call of Duty 4, but with some new additions like the MAC11 uzi and some new pistols and sniper rifles. Gameplay seems solid, but extremely similar to the game it was based on. Most of the additions provided appear to be maps and weapons, but the gameplay is still very similar. Those expecting a huge departure from the way COD4 played should look elsewhere. However, those who just want a fresh take on the game with some new guns and environments are likely to be very pleased with this modification. Get some of your friends together and give it a shot, literally!
