CellFactor: Revolution is a free game developed as a showcase tool for the Ageia PhysX card, a graphics card dedicated to processing physics. Fortunately, the gamer does not need the Ageia card to play CellFactor: Revolution, but there are many dazzling graphic effects missing from the standard version.
CellFactor: Revolution is a first-person shooter (FPS) set in an arena-style environment. What sets CellFactor apart from many other FPS games is that the players have psionic powers that they can use to manipulate bits of the environment as weapons. The game also boasts three classes, and each class can has some unique skills and can manipulate the environment in different ways.
The three classes are Black Op, Guardian and Bishop. The Black Op is somewhat of Guardian-Bishop hybrid, and he has highly effective gravity bombs. The Guardian is the only class that dual wields and his jump is significantly higher than the other classes. The Bishop has a kinetic thrust power that can part inanimate objects at high speeds, wreaking havoc on all living things in its path.
CellFactor has LAN support, and the game is quite fun in a structured environment. Unfortunately, the game doesn’t have an online multiplayer mode, and the bots will not challenge experienced gamers.
