Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 is an exciting real-time strategy (RTS) title that puts gamers in charge of opposing armies that are being forced to fight in an alternate reality. You will be thrown into a hectic new war between three superpowers, and this war will determine the future of the world for many of years to come.
Anyone who enjoys the style of the previous Red Alert games is sure to enjoy this title. The campy cutscenes perfectly complement the retrofuturistic design of each map and unit. Players can start with a short tutorial that sets the tone of the game and gives them more information on each of the factions that they can play. The controls of this RTS are straightforward, and most gamers should be able to master the mechanics after just a few matches. They can then jump straight into multiplayer games or play as one of the factions in the campaign mode.
When it comes to the tactics of Red Alert 3, this title doesn't stray too far from its predecessors. Players are given access to a wide variety of unusual units that have their own unique powers. That includes everything from intelligent attack dolphins to armored blimps. One exciting new feature of this game is the cooperative campaign. In addition to setting up single matches against the computer, friends can now battle through most of the campaign maps with one another.
EA Los Angeles has added just enough to Red Alert 3 to give fans of this franchise something to look forward to. The goofy acting and polished movie clips are just an added bonus, and they make Red Alert 3 feel like a well-designed and polished product.
