"Cry of the Infected," a PC video game from the developer Cyborg Arm, brings new life to the traditional zombie game thanks to a creative plot twist. Instead of running from hordes of undead, players experience being one of those very same brain-starved zombies. Players assume the identity of Robert, a poor fellow who recently got infected and turned into a walking corpse. Robert still has enough of his humanity left to want to search for his wife Amy. But between other zombies roaming the city and the military patrols hunting them down, Robert may never see his true love again.
Like many shooters, the game utilizes a first-person perspective, except players must find weapons before using them. Robert's main defenses are his zombie claws, which he uses to maul enemies, but he also proves surprisngly proficient with a laser cannon. The game includes 13 levels, with the main storyline lasting approximately two hours. Players can replay the game to unlock a secret weapon and to achieve an alternate ending.
