Domination is a free open-source game that emulates the style of the classic strategy board game by Parker Brothers, Risk. It’s worth noting that Domination is not simply a Risk clone. It does include the basic Risk map and support basic Risk rules, as well as optional rules and common house rules. It also supports an unlimited array of custom maps and rules, and the default download includes many of the most popular maps and rule sets.
Domination supports a single-player mode, local multiplayer, multiplayer by LAN and online multiplayer. In order to play by LAN or Web, the game requires a server. The Domination server is built-in. One player acts as the server and then all other players connect to it. One shortcoming is that there is no built-in connection service, so most players use online communities to set up games. Many of these communities also host leaderboards, tournaments and other events.
