Facewound is a 2D side-scrolling game whose basic gameplay is dazzlingly simple: if it moves, shoot it. In this case, "it" usually means the zombies that swarm toward you on each level. Killing zombies allows you to collect plutonium, which you can use to buy bigger and better guns with which to kill more zombies. Besides your arsenal, you're also able to enter "focus" mode, which puts the game in slow motion for a brief time, which can be useful against certain enemies.
The gameplay may be old school, but the graphics are modern as possible, with smoothly animating attacks, particle physics, realistic water and reflection effects, and ragdoll effects as enemies are sent flying from your explosions. It's a game that's as much fun to watch as it is to play.
Facewound is an abandoned game, so it's still in "debug" mode. This means that cheats and Easter eggs can easily be discovered with the right keystroke. Unfortunately, it also means that Facewound can be more buggy than a finished product, so be aware of that if you decide to play.
