FIFA 07 is a video game in the soccer sim category. The game is the 2007 edition of the famous FIFA game series and brings various improvements over previous edition. Although it has since been replaced with more recent versions, the 2007 version of FIFA is still a great game and can be attractive for those who enjoy playing retro games or anyone who wants a realistic soccer simulator but doesn't have a PC powerful enough to play the more recent titles.

There are many things that make FIFA 07 superior to other soccer games, even its closest rival, Pro Evolution Soccer. The FIFA game series are licensed by FIFA to use real team, player and stadium names and imagery, giving the game a far more realistic feeling overall. FIFA 07 also brings with it a game engine that has been completely overhauled. This change makes the game a lot more challenging, as you need to actually think of real soccer tactics to win matches and not just randomly try to make your players score like in the "arcade" soccer games.

The game's sound effects have also had an overhaul, with many players commenting that they're a lot more life-like. Another major change is the addition of a manager mode. This new game mode makes you a team manager, with tasks such as buying and selling players, setting wages and deploying a variety of tactics to make your team champions. While this new mode is indeed a welcome addition, it suffers from limitations that make it rather simplistic.
