Flight Simulator X is the latest edition of Microsoft's famous flight simulation games. If you're a would-be pilot or just have a strong interest in aviation, this game is made just for you. It features a wide range of real-life aircraft, locations and scenery. You can take off and land at over 24,000 airports located around the globe.
This edition of the game features a variety of aircraft, ranging from small single engine planes, all the way to jets like the 747 and anything in between. If this is still not enough for you, there are thousands of additional airplanes that you can add to the game from third-party designers and developers.
One of the reasons why Flight Simulator X and the previous versions of this simulation game have been so successful is the sheer realism of the simulation. The controls, handling and physics are all very realistic. In fact, the game has sometimes been used as a training aid to teach new pilots the basics of flight.
There are various modes available in Flight Simulator X. Free flight lets you choose which airport you want to take off in and the airplane you want to fly. You can then set up a flight plan to land at a specific airport or just explore the world by flying around. The game also offers you a choice of missions with specific objectives, ranging in difficulty from beginner to advanced. Finally, a thorough training mode is present too. It lets you learn how to fly the various airplanes in the game under many different conditions.
