Anyone that enjoyed gaming in the DOS era should love Gunfu Deadlands. The simple controls and the retro graphics style suggest that whoever developed this game that enjoyed playing with their IBM compatible years ago. Gunfu Deadlands does not reward players for simply wasting ammunition like so many other games in the western genre. Instead, it forces one to rely on stealth to take out individual targets one by one.
It provides players with plenty of challenge. Some gamers might even find the game too difficult. A single shot is more than enough to end the player's game. People that aren't fans of one shot kill games might not enjoy it, but it becomes a lot more fun once gamers get into a rhythm. Those that want a slight advantage might want to try out the bullet time option. This slows down the action, which could be helpful at times. However, the advantage is only light. Gunfu Deadlands is surprisingly strategic for a game that is otherwise apparently quite simple. The quality of the AI is actually remarkable, but it should be noted that the enemies are simply sharpshooters. They don't cheat like the enemies in many lesser games out there.
