Childish Things
International Cricket Captain (ICC) is a popular cricket management video game series. International Cricket Captain 2011 was published by P2 Games and developed by Childish Things. As with all ICC iterations, the 2011 version was developed for Microsoft Windows, but it was also the first ICC game to be developed for Mac OS. ICC 2011 is not, however, available for the Xbox or PlayStation consoles.
Simulation
ICC 2011 is a true sports simulation. Instead of using a keyboard and mouse to controller players, you set rosters, dictate strategies, call timeouts and hope that your simulated players behave as you’ve instructed them to. ICC 2011 is reasonably user-friendly, but what’s most impressive is the sheer amount of tactical and configuration options that are available to the advanced player.
Cloud Support
Upon purchasing and installing ICC 2011, the player creates an account, which extends to the cloud. With 2011, all ICC saves and related files are synced to the cloud as well as maintained locally. This allows you to have access to all of your matches, leagues and tournaments wherever the game is installed.
iPhone Support
One of the newest and coolest aspects of ICC 2011 is that along with Mac OS support comes iOS support, which extends to the Apple iPhone and iPad devices via an app. The app has access to your cloud account, which means that you can pause a match at home and then resume it while you’re on the bus on your way to work or school.
Cricket Coverage
The amount of statistical data in ICC 2011 is impressive, and the game includes nearly any team relevant to the United Kingdom, India, Australia and New Zealand fan bases. In addition to most international leagues and cups, players are able to access domestic trophies, including some rather obscure ones.
