Lost Planet Extreme Condition is a game from Capcom where you play a soldier trapped on a dangerous world full of vicious creatures and other enemy soldiers. The idea seems to be a mix of Dune and Gears of War. The action is not as smooth as Gears of War and there can be some frustrating control issues. The story is nonsensical and silly, and the writing is poor. As far as positive aspects of Lost Planet, there's the graphics, which are still excellent even though the game is now several years old. Fighting the massive worm creatures is exciting, even though there's not nearly as much of it as the trailers would suggest. The game is difficult because of the controls, not because it's actually challenging. Overall, it's just a game that could have used more polishing and fine tuning. Definitely need to try the demo before you buy.
