Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne continues after Payne's original war against the nightmare drug 'Valkyr'. Payne, unable to cope with the death of his family at the hands of drug-crazed thugs, leaves the DEA and returns to his old job at the NYPD. Soon after doing so, he is thrown into a new series of events involving the Italian and Russian mafia. His shady friend Vladimir Lem is back, and so is Vinnie Gognitti. Working with his old accomplice Mona Sax, he must solve the mystery of "The Cleaners" one bullet at a time in order to get to the bottom of what really happened to his family.
Everything you loved about the original has been improved, from the graphics to the audio. A new soundtrack is provided, featuring songs from the Finnish band "Poets of the Fall". Max Payne 2 is also one of the first games to incorporate ragdoll physics, as well as a more polished "bullet-time" system than the original. The incorporation of sniper rifles and molotov cocktails, as well as explosive ammunition containers, round out Max's arsenal this time around.
Max Payne fans and shooter fanatics alike will be thrilled by this game.
