Windows XP
monopolie
The developers of Monopolie market it as a “clone” of the original classic board game published by Parker Brothers, now Hasbro. Monopolie is open-source software, which means that the source code is freely available and that the developers are actually an entire community of people who love Monopoly. Monopolie was originally created at the time of Windows 95 using Microsoft Visual Basic. However, the game compiles and runs on modern versions of Windows, including Vista and 7.
What sets Monopolie apart from most other Monopoly clones is that the board looks authentic, minus text, which isn’t visible in the board’s smallest form. Players can also swap the board out, so if people wanted to play with the French or German version of the board, they can do that. Monopolie supports all standard rules, optional rules and house rules. It’s even possible to add one’s own house rules, although that does require some understanding of Visual Basic.
