Pro Evolution Soccer 2013

Some critics have argued PES 2013 looks too much like Pro Evolution Soccer 2012, and that criticism might have some merit. Konami, the designers of this popular franchise, have never been known for their graphics. However, some of the subtle changes since the 2012 title has made the gameplay more fluid than ever before. Pro Evolution 2013 has a more manual style, which makes it more like a soccer simulation game over arcade-style action.

In PES 2012, you had more restrictive controls, but the latest addition calls for a more dynamic control system. In fact, Konami felt so proud of it that they have called it "PES FullControl." You even have a new feature called first touch where you can trap the ball and seize control of it. PES 2013 delivers a delightful experience where novices can pick up the controls easily. Since its predecessor, the in-game strategy improved by leaps and bounds because you have a coach who appears in a little box, at the corner of your screen. He will shout instructions if you summon him.

PES 2013 directs its focus on player likenesses so that the players behave similar to how their real-life counterpart might play. For example, some of the soccer players will inevitably celebrate just like they would in real life after scoring a goal. The animation, unfortunately, looks patchy at times. In addition, the way you turn feels unrealistic. Still, you have a great game if you choose to play it and the improvements since the last game have appeased the critics of the last game.
