Secrets-of-da-vinci
The Secrets of Da Vinci: The Forbidden Manuscript is a point and click adventure game by Elektro Games and Kheops Studios that came out in 2006. Like many point and click adventure games, it is built on finding objects and solving puzzles.
The puzzle solving is relatively easy. I was never stumped for long, and moved through the puzzles relatively quickly. The hidden object portion is more hit or miss. Sometimes you can instantly spot them, and sometimes you end up clicking randomly on the screen hoping for a hit. Some of the objects are incredibly tiny, and it can be troublesome to find them and use them properly. This leads to another issue, the inventory. The inventory is convoluted and more difficult than it needs to be. It is not awful, but it could be significantly easier to use.
It may sound so far like the game is horrible but that is not true. The story is quite interesting, following mysteries in Leonardo Da Vinci's past. The graphics are excellent, even now compared to most other adventure games they still hold up well. The puzzles may not be extremely challenging but they are not kindergarten level either. And with the age of the game, it is relatively cheap now. If you are a fan of these types of games it is definitely worth looking into.
