vietcong-game
Set during the Vietnam War in 1967, "Vietcong" is a tactical first-person shooting video game for the PC. Gathering of Developers worked with Pterodon and 2K Czech to release the game in 2003, receiving favorable reviews and spawning a subsequent expansion pack and a 2005 sequel.
In "Vietcong," players act as Sergeant First Class Steve Hawkins, a Green Beret stationed near the Cambodian border in Nui Pek, South Vietnam. Hawkins and his team of soldiers, including demolitions specialists and expert machine-gunners, undertake various missions to undermine the enemy Vietcong, culminating in a dramatic defense of the U.S. Army's base camp. Along the way, players will engage in jungle combat, traverse dangerous swamps, and even venture into the infamous Vietcong underground tunnel network.
Aside from the standard single-player campaign, the game also includes competitive and cooperative multiplayer modes. There's even a downloadable mission that allows players to compete as the Vietcong soldiers.
