"Watchmen: The End is Nigh" acts as a brutal, action-packed prequel to the popular graphic novel and movie. In a span of time some several years before the events that have made this franchise popular, you play as either Rorschach or Nite Owl as you battle your way viciously through hordes of dangerous enemies.
While the gameplay is very straight-forward and the storyline lacks the depth that some fans expect from the title, there is more than enough fast-paced, gritty violence to keep any fan of button-masher action happy for as long as the game lasts. At the same time, however, a bit of skill is needed to eloquently execute that perfectly devastating special move or counterattack as thugs begin to get more intelligent--and more deadly.
This game is full of surprisingly detailed environments combined with impressive lighten to make the entire gaming experience as visually-appealing as games of this genre come. All-in-all, even the most difficult to please "Watchmen" fans have to admit that spending a few hours in control of Rorschach or Nite Owl as you dish out some dirty, vigilante justice to a plethora of deserving criminals is just too exciting of a prospect to pass up.
