WordMahjongg is a simple and enjoyable implementation of Mahjongg Solitaire. Mahjongg is a Chinese game played by four using playing cards with inscribed symbols. The solitaire version uses wooden tiles instead, and the goal of the game is quite different: Remove all tiles from the board. The player removes a tile by matching it to a duplicate. The catch is that both tiles must be open. Open tiles have a side exposed and no tile above overlapping it.
Most Mahjongg games use tiles with Chinese symbols. What sets WordMahjongg apart is that it better translates the experience of the original game by using the player’s native language. WordMahjongg’s default tile set uses American English, but players can choose from an array of languages. In addition, the program draws the tiles real-time, which opens the door to simple customization. Players can add new tiles simply by adding new words to the wordlist.
