World War II Online, also known as Battleground Europe, is a massively multiplayer online first-person shooter that puts you in command of Axis or Allied forces during the Blitzkrieg campaigns in Western Europe from 1940 to 1943.
The game allows you to take on various roles. You can play as infantry, wielding a variety of historically accurate weapons; command a tank, a naval destroyer, or a U-Boat; or even take to the air as a fighter pilot. You can also serve as a mission leader or member of the "High Command," setting strategic objectives for teams of other players. Each successful mission or battle increases a player's rank.
World War II Online offers an unique experience for FPS fans and military buffs alike. The massive team-based warfare and the variety of roles and weapons available ensures the game is never quite the same twice, and you can even switch sides to experience the full variety of the game. New units and missions are regularly added to the game, providing an ever-expanding experience.
